The island of La Digue includes, among other quaint wonders, the very famous Anse Source d’Argent. This beach, among the most beautiful in the world, will welcome you in a magical setting.
You will easily succumb to the desire of having a walk or resting there, just to enjoy this natural treasure!
La Digue will charm you with picturesque calm, gentle way of life and inhabitants’ smile. On this little piece of land where the main means of locomotion are the cattle and the bicycle.
You’ll discover this exotic decor, while walking on the small paths among abounding vegetation, to the immense coconut grove of an old colonial plantation, added now with large vanilla plantation.
If la Digue is known for its beautiful beaches, when arriving at Source d’Argent (Silver Source) you will understand straight away why this spot is so famous… The shaded path that you will have hiked, ends with a breath-taking panoramic view. You will be dazzled by the white sand, as well as the rocky stone blocks carved by time and water.
The beach on one side is caressed by a crystalline warm water and on the other side, bordered by lush vegetation.
This beach is thus totally isolated from the rest of the world, at the end of the island.
Magic occurs increasingly, thanks to the daily cycles of the tides and the sun. Indeed, if at low tide the rocks are almost completely discovered, at high tides they are encircled with water, almost giving the impression of floating stones. However, the magic appears truly with the movements of the sun when, at bedtime or sunrise, rocks pass by in different colors.
Anse Source d’Argent is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. When you discover it, rocked by the lapping of the waves, the rustling of coconut leaves and birds’ whispers, you’ll have a real overview of paradise.
The lagoon, with its calm shallow water, is ideal for swimming and diving. Surrounded by a barrier reef that perfectly protected it, it will offer you unique and relaxing moments. After swimming with multicolored fish and rolling in smooth warm sand, you’ll set out to discover the other hidden beaches behind the rocks.
If the adventure has made you hungry or thirsty, you will enjoy fruit or fresh fruit juices sold on the beach by the Seychellois. Then, you will ride your bike 1 -2 minutes to go and eat grilled fish at the hut… with your feet in the sand!
To give an extra touch of authenticity to your adventure, enjoy your visit to the coconut plantation to visit the Union Plantation House (former colonial house) which has served as the setting of many films (for example, James Bond, Emmanuelle). Here, you will observe the giant earth turtles as well as the old cemetery of the first inhabitants of La Digue.
Maybe you will be tempted by a horse ride or, to end your adventure in the best way, by a stay in one of the many guesthouses held by Seychellois.
